  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter softened
  • 2 tablespoons Apple Butter or pear butter
  • 4 ounces Brie Cheese or triple crème/Camembert
  • 1 whole Apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) optional
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Thyme or rosemary/basil

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. Spread apple butter evenly on the unbuttered side of each slice.
  4. Layer slices of Brie cheese on top of the apple butter. Add optional ingredients if desired.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread, ensuring the buttered sides are facing outward.
  6. Cook the assembled sandwiches in the skillet for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Flip the sandwiches and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until both sides are golden.
  8. Slice in half and serve hot with tomato soup or salad.
