For the Apple Mixture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large mixer bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.
  5. Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth.
  6. Gradually add half of the flour mixture and half of the milk alternately to the wet mixture.
  7. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and chopped apple.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, add half of the apple mixture, and swirl.
  9. Add the remaining batter and rest of the apple mixture, swirling again.
  10. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon topping on the surface.
  11. Bake for 45-55 minutes, checking for doneness around the 45-minute mark.
  12. Allow to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  13. Prepare the glaze by whisking together confectioners’ sugar, ground cinnamon, and water.
  14. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread and slice to serve.
