Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large mixer bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually add half of the flour mixture and half of the milk alternately to the wet mixture.
- In another bowl, combine brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and chopped apple.
- Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, add half of the apple mixture, and swirl.
- Add the remaining batter and rest of the apple mixture, swirling again.
- Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon topping on the surface.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, checking for doneness around the 45-minute mark.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Prepare the glaze by whisking together confectioners’ sugar, ground cinnamon, and water.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread and slice to serve.
