Ingredients

For the Creamy Base
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Ensure it’s at room temperature for a smooth mix.
  • 1/2 cup Whipped Topping Consider using homemade for a fresher taste.
For the Pecan Topping
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans Use whole pecan halves for freshness.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Can be replaced with coconut sugar for a healthier option.
  • 1/4 cup Corn Syrup Feel free to substitute with maple syrup.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Opt for unsalted butter to better control saltiness.
  • 1 large Egg Make sure it’s at room temperature to prevent scrambling.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Using pure extract will yield the best taste.
  • Salt Adjust to your personal preference.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric Mixer
  • Medium saucepan

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat 8 oz of softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup of confectioners’ sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Gently fold in 1 cup of whipped topping until well combined.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of chopped pecans, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of corn syrup, 4 tablespoons of butter, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium-low, stirring continuously for about 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens and is bubbly.
  3. Once the pecan mixture has thickened, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in a serving dish.
  4. When the pecan topping is slightly cooled, pour it over the cream cheese layer without mixing, allowing the beautiful layers to show through.
  5. Sprinkle additional chopped pecans over the top just before serving.
