Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Pour 1 cup of filtered water into a small saucepan and bring it to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and add 1-2 teaspoons of loose black tea or 1 tea bag. Cover and let steep for 2 minutes.
  3. Measure out ½ cup of whole milk in a separate saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring gently, for about 3-4 minutes until warm.
  4. Remove the tea bag or strain out the loose tea leaves. Slowly pour the warm milk into the brewed black tea while stirring gently.
  5. Add sugar to taste, starting with 1 teaspoon, and stir until fully dissolved.
  6. Pour the Royal Milk Tea into a mug and garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, nutmeg, or whipped cream as desired.
