For the Bang Bang Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Vegan Mayonnaise Any plant-based mayo works well
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha Adjust for desired spice level
  • 1 tablespoon White Sugar Can be omitted for sugar-free version
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Adjust according to taste

Step-by-Step Instructions for Bang Bang Tofu
  1. Prepare Tofu: Drain the extra-firm tofu, wrap in a kitchen towel, press for about 5 minutes.
  2. Cut Tofu: Slice the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and transfer to a mixing bowl.
  3. Coat Tofu: Combine cornstarch, panko breadcrumbs, and garlic powder in a bowl. Coat cubed tofu gently.
  4. Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and bake for 40 minutes.
  5. Make Bang Bang Sauce: Combine vegan mayonnaise, sriracha, white sugar, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  6. Combine: Toss the baked tofu in the Bang Bang sauce until coated.
  7. Serve: Enjoy over coconut cilantro rice or as a stand-alone appetizer.
