Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prep Jackfruit: Drain and rinse the canned jackfruit. Cut into wing-sized pieces, removing tough core sections. Toss with cayenne, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  2. Prepare Coatings: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Whisk flour, plant milk, baking soda, and salt in a bowl to create a light batter.
  3. Coat the Jackfruit: Dip each marinated jackfruit piece into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Place on a lined baking tray or into the air fryer basket.
  4. Baking or Air Frying: Bake for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway. For air frying, cook for 5 minutes, shake the basket, then cook for 3–5 more minutes.
  5. Fry for Extra Crispiness: Heat canola oil in a skillet. Fry the wings for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Serve with Your Favorite Sauce: Toss fried jackfruit wings in barbecue or buffalo sauce and serve warm.
