  • 1 can Chickpeas drained and patted dry
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper freshly ground
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt use kosher salt for better texture
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour or chickpea flour for gluten-free
  • 1 large Egg or flax egg for vegan
  • 2 tbsp Grapeseed Oil for frying
For the Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Dill chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by draining a can of chickpeas and patting them dry with a paper towel. Coarsely mash the chickpeas in a large mixing bowl until partially chunky.
  2. Add ground cumin, black pepper, sea salt, green onions, garlic, flour, and egg to the mashed chickpeas. Mix until a cohesive dough forms.
  3. Heat grapeseed oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Form the mixture into small patties about ½ inch thick.
  4. Fry each patty for 3–4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
  5. In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dill, garlic, and salt. Mix until smooth and serve with the patties.
