Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans. Dust them lightly with flour and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  6. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before inverting them onto the racks to cool completely.
  7. Once cool, spread chocolate frosting over the top of one cake layer, place the other layer on top, and frost the top and sides.
