Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, basil, cooled onion and garlic, eggs, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Shape meat mixture into a rectangle about 1 inch thick on a sheet of parchment paper.
  5. Spread mozzarella cheese over the rectangle, leaving a border, and add optional fillings if desired.
  6. Roll the meatloaf carefully using the parchment paper, ensuring the seam is on the bottom.
  7. Transfer to the baking sheet with seam side down.
  8. Pour reserved marinara sauce over the top.
  9. Bake for approximately 60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  10. Let the meatloaf rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
