Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Christmas Sausage Rolls
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil, add onion and garlic, sauté until translucent. Add sausage meat, sage, thyme, pepper, and salt. Cook until sausage is browned.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into rectangles measuring 4x6 inches.
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each pastry rectangle. Fold and seal the edges tightly.
- Slice each roll a couple of times on top and brush with beaten egg.
- Transfer rolls to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven, let cool briefly, and serve warm.
