Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Pumpkin Brownies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch baking dish by greasing or lining it.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla extract, and pumpkin purée until smooth, then blend into the chocolate mixture.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet, then stir in chocolate chips.
  6. In another bowl, mix cream cheese, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and pumpkin purée until smooth.
  7. Pour half of the brownie batter into the baking dish, dollop with cream cheese mixture, then top with remaining batter.
  8. Swirl the cream cheese into the brownie batter with a toothpick, and sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.
  9. Bake for about 40 minutes, until set but moist in the center. A toothpick should come out clean or with a few crumbs.
  10. Remove and cool in the dish for about 30 minutes before slicing.
