- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray. Spread 1 cup of sweetened shredded coconut and 1 cup of chopped toasted pecans evenly at the bottom.
- Sprinkle the package of devil's food cake mix over the coconut and pecans. Do not mix.
- In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Gradually add confectioners' sugar to the cream cheese mixture, mixing well to avoid lumps until thick and creamy.
- Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the cake mix and sprinkle ½ cup of chocolate chips and remaining pecans on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Once baked, allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
