Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray. Spread 1 cup of sweetened shredded coconut and 1 cup of chopped toasted pecans evenly at the bottom.
  3. Sprinkle the package of devil's food cake mix over the coconut and pecans. Do not mix.
  4. In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Gradually add confectioners' sugar to the cream cheese mixture, mixing well to avoid lumps until thick and creamy.
  6. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the cake mix and sprinkle ½ cup of chocolate chips and remaining pecans on top.
