Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth, then fold into the dry mixture.
  4. Reserve about ¼ cup of the brownie batter, pour the rest into the prepared pan.
  5. Beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then mix in egg, vanilla, and orange food coloring.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter evenly.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of reserved brownie batter over the cream cheese layer and swirl with a knife.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until edges are set, and center is slightly moist.
  9. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then slice into squares for serving.
