Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
  2. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan, stir in the light brown sugar, and boil for 3 minutes.
  4. Pour the toffee over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes or until bubbly and slightly golden.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let sit for 2–3 minutes before spreading.
  7. Add optional toppings and gently press into the melted chocolate.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.
  9. Lift the entire sheet out using the foil overhang and break into pieces.
