Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by brushing it lightly with about 1 teaspoon of melted butter.
- Slice Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally into two layers without separating them to create a top and bottom layer.
- Place the bottom half of the sliced rolls cut-side up in the baking dish and brush it generously with 1 tablespoon of melted butter. Sprinkle sharp cheddar and low-moisture mozzarella cheeses evenly across.
- Carefully place the top half of the rolls, cut-side down, on top of the cheese-filled bottom layer. Press down gently.
- In a small bowl, whisk together remaining melted butter, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, dried parsley, and a pinch of fine sea salt. Brush generously over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover the prepared sandwich with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the sandwich rest for about 5 minutes before slicing along the seams for perfectly portioned servings.

Notes
To prevent sogginess, use low-moisture mozzarella. Always let the sandwich rest for 5 minutes after baking for better texture. You can assemble the sandwiches up to 6 hours in advance, keeping the garlic butter separate until baking.
