Method

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch springform pan by greasing it with butter and dusting with flour.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate the dry mix into the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  5. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Fold them gently into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, ensuring an even distribution of apples.
  7. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle it over the batter in the pan. Optionally, top with sliced almonds.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
