Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 430°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine oat milk and vinegar in a small bowl to create vegan buttermilk. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  4. Make a well in the dry mixture and pour in the vegan buttermilk. Fold until just combined.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute.
  6. Flatten dough into a disc and score an 'X' across the top with a sharp knife.
  7. Transfer shaped dough to the baking sheet and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool bread on a rack for at least one hour before slicing.
