- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place your rolled-out bottom crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until coated.
- Spoon the apple mixture into the crust-lined pie plate and dot with pieces of butter.
- Roll out the top pie crust and cover the apple filling. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top crust.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F (220°C), then reduce the temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
- Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving.
