Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place your rolled-out bottom crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until coated.
  3. Spoon the apple mixture into the crust-lined pie plate and dot with pieces of butter.
  4. Roll out the top pie crust and cover the apple filling. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top crust.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F (220°C), then reduce the temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  6. Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving.
