  3. Mix combined ingredients in a stand mixer on low, then increase to medium for about 10 minutes.
  4. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  5. Punch down risen dough, divide into 12 portions, and shape into balls.
  6. Place shaped rolls in a greased pan, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  8. Prepare egg wash with egg and water; brush on rolls and sprinkle with toppings.
  9. Bake rolls for 20 to 22 minutes until golden brown.
