Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter Adds a rich flavor and golden finish; brush extra melted butter post-baking for enhanced shine.
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough A quick prep shortcut for easy assembly; alternatively, crescent roll dough or pizza dough can be used.
For the Filling
  • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese Melts beautifully for a gooey center; feel free to swap with cheddar or provolone for a different flavor.
  • ½ cup mini pepperoni slices Perfectly sized to fit inside the dough; regular pepperoni can be chopped smaller or replaced with turkey pepperoni for a lighter option.
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Provides a bold garlic taste; no substitution needed, but fresh garlic can add a fresh twist.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Infuses classic herb flavors that remind you of pizza; can be replaced with single dried herbs if desired.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • small bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F, or set your air fryer to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of melted butter with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning. Stir until well blended.
  3. Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate it into individual pieces. Flatten each piece slightly to create rounds, about 3 inches in diameter.
  4. On each flattened piece, place about 2 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese and a few mini pepperoni slices in the center.
  5. Pinch the edges of each dough round together to seal, then roll each filled ball between your palms for a smooth shape.
  6. Place the sealed dough balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the seasoned butter mixture. Bake for 12-15 minutes or air fry for about 8 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving warm, ideally with a side of marinara or ranch for dipping.
