  • 8 oz Cream Cheese At room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Butter Softened
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar Sift before use

Step-by-Step Instructions for Moist Spice Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13" baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for approximately 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth, then gradually add the powdered sugar until fluffy.
