Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb Ground Chicken or ground turkey as a substitute
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs plain, panko, or gluten-free if needed
  • 1 large Egg essential for binding
  • 1/4 cup Milk can substitute with non-dairy milk
  • 2 cloves Garlic freshly minced
  • 1/2 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Dijon Mustard star ingredient for tanginess
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup ensure it's pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil for moisture and greasing
  • 1 tsp Dried Thyme use fresh if available
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika adds color and warmth
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper to taste
For the Maple Dijon Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Dijon Mustard for sauce
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup for sweetness
  • 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar for acidity
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil for richness
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder to taste
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic, onion, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, olive oil, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Form the mixture into 1½-inch meatballs and place on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 18-22 minutes until golden and cooked through.
Sauce Preparation
  1. While meatballs are baking, whisk together Dijon mustard, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, and onion powder in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until thickened.
Finishing Touches
  1. Coat the baked meatballs with the warm Maple Dijon sauce in a mixing bowl.
  2. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs.
