Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather your mixing bowls and cake mix.
  2. Combine the white cake mix with plain Greek yogurt and water. Stir until well blended, then divide into three bowls, dyeing one red, one blue, and leaving the third white.
  3. Pour the colored batter into greased baking dishes and bake for 12-15 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  4. Crumble each cooled cake layer into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Roll 1-2 tablespoons of cake mixture into balls, inserting a stick into each. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  6. Melt the white candy melts and vegetable shortening in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  7. Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted coating, then add sprinkles while the coating is still wet.
  8. Chill the decorated cake pops in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set the coating.
