  • 1 each Cucumber small, seeds omitted
  • 2 each Eggs beaten
  • 4 each Sausages pre-cooked or hot dogs
  • 1 cup Imitation Crab Meat or real crab
For the Rice
  • 2 cups Rice medium to short-grain
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar just a pinch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil high-quality Korean
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds lightly toasted
For the Wrap
  • 4 sheets Gim (Nori) shiny side down

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Carrots: Mix a tablespoon of lemon juice, a pinch of sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add julienned carrots and marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Salt the Cucumber: Sprinkle cucumber with salt for 3-5 minutes, squeeze out excess moisture.
  3. Cook the Eggs: Beat eggs with a pinch of salt, cook in a skillet for 2-3 minutes, roll omelet and slice into strips.
  4. Fry Sausages & Crab: Cook sausages and imitation crab over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until heated through.
  5. Prep the Rice: Mix warm cooked rice with salt, sugar, pepper, and sesame oil.
  6. Assemble the Kimbap: Spread rice on gim, layer with carrots, cucumber, egg, sausage, and crab, then roll tightly.
  7. Slice: Coat knife with sesame oil and slice kimbap into 9-10 pieces for serving.
