Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Hobo Casserole Ground Beef
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and ground beef. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent.
  4. Transfer beef mixture into the greased baking dish, adding thinly sliced potatoes on top. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Top with shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese. Pour beef broth around edges. Add milk if desired.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
