  • 4 slices Bread Sourdough or whole wheat work best.
To Serve
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup For sweetness; hot sauce for a spicy alternative.
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro Mint Chutney Store-bought or homemade for the best flavor.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Non-stick pan
  • Spatula

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together finely chopped red onion, chopped green chili, ground turmeric, kosher salt, chopped cilantro, and milk until well combined. Add in the eggs and whisk for about one minute until frothy.
  2. Take a slice of your chosen bread and dip it into the prepared batter, ensuring both sides are coated thoroughly.
  3. Place a non-stick or cast-iron pan over medium heat, adding a drizzle of oil. Allow the pan to heat for about 2 minutes until the oil shimmers.
  4. Carefully place the soaked bread slices onto the hot pan and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Flip each slice and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  5. Once cooked to perfection, remove the French toast from the pan and serve hot with a side of tangy ketchup and cilantro mint chutney.
