Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by placing the sliced onion at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Next, take your beef roast and lay it gently on top of the onions.
  3. Pour the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce over the meat.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt evenly over the top of the beef.
  5. Cover the slow cooker with its lid and set it to cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.
  6. Once the cooking time is up, carefully remove the beef from the slow cooker using tongs.
  7. To prepare the gravy, strain the onions from the broth and return the liquid to the slow cooker.
  8. For serving, layer sliced bread on each plate, then spoon fluffy mashed potatoes over the bread.
