Cooking Steps
  1. Rinse 1 cup of uncooked white rice under cold water. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice with 2 cups of beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer gently for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  2. Cut 1 pound of sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces. Season with 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add seasoned steak pieces to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your liking.
  5. Lower heat to medium and stir in 1 cup of queso dip until melted and combined with steak.
  6. Fluff the cooked rice and add to the skillet with the queso-steak mixture, stirring to combine.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. If desired, add a splash of beef broth for creaminess.
