  • 1 tsp Black Food Colouring Optional; can be omitted for regular biscuits.
For the Icing
  • 150 g Icing Sugar Substitution: Powdered sugar acts the same in icing.

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Combine dry ingredients and fold into the creamed mixture until well incorporated.
  3. Chill the dough in plastic wrap for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough to 1cm thickness on a floured surface.
  5. Cut out shapes using a cookie cutter and place on a lined baking tray.
  6. Refrigerate the cut-outs for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 180°C and bake for 18-21 minutes.
  8. Cool the biscuits for 5 minutes on the tray, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare icing by mixing icing sugar with water until thick paste consistency.
  10. Decorate cooled biscuits with icing in spooky designs and let set completely.
