  • 1/4 cup Oil vegetable oil can be used
  • 1 cup Light Brown Sugar can substitute dark brown sugar for a more intense flavor
  • 1/2 cup Honey opt for pure honey for the best taste
  • 1 large Egg use a flax egg for vegan option
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract pure vanilla recommended
For the Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour can use gluten-free blend
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda ensure freshness
  • 1 teaspoon Salt fleur de sel for an elegant touch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter, oil, light brown sugar, and honey together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add an egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, blending until just incorporated.
  3. Gradually incorporate the sifted flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, mixing until no flour streaks remain.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1.5 hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Shape dough into balls using about 3 tablespoons of dough for each cookie and place on baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for around 10 minutes until edges are set but centers are slightly underbaked.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle with fleur de sel while warm.
  9. Cool on wire rack before serving.
