Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with a Silpat mat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, eggs, and pudding.
  3. Using a cookie scoop, portion the batter onto the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake for 7-10 minutes, until the pies spring back when pressed and appear set at the edges.
  5. Let the pies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  6. Mix orange food coloring into the vanilla icing until the desired hue is achieved.
  7. Spread or pipe icing onto the flat side of one pie and top with another to create a sandwich.
