Ingredients

For the Skulls
  • 1 3D Skull Silicone Mold Essential for shaping your spooky masterpieces; ensure it's easy to release for perfect skulls.
  • 10 oz White Melting Chocolate The main ingredient for creating sweet and creamy skulls; Ghirardelli is a reliable brand.
For the Pink Cheesecake Mousse
  • ½ cup Whipping Cream Provides a light and airy texture for your mousse; opt for heavy cream for the best results.
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese, softened Adds richness to the mousse; be sure it's at room temperature for smooth blending.
  • ¼ cup White Chocolate Chips Enhances the creaminess and sweetness of the mousse; melt them for a silky texture.
  • ¼ cup Confectioner's Sugar (powdered sugar) Sweetens your mousse while also giving it a smooth finish.
  • ½ tsp Pure Vanilla Extract A must-have for depth of flavor; choose high-quality for the best aroma.
  • 2 drops Red Food Coloring For that enticing pink hue in your mousse; feel free to add more for a deeper shade.

Equipment

  • 3D Skull Silicone Mold
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Piping bag or squeeze bottle
  • Mixing bowls

Method

Steps
  1. Melt 10 oz of white melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 20-second intervals, stirring frequently until fully melted and smooth (about 1 to 2 minutes).
  2. Use a squeeze bottle or piping bag to fill the 3D skull silicone mold with the melted white chocolate, rotating to ensure even coating. Repeat 2-3 times, allowing each layer to set slightly.
  3. Transfer filled molds to the freezer for 10 minutes, or until chocolate is firm. Remove skulls from the molds and allow to cool at room temperature.
  4. Gently crack the back of each skull for openings; rustic looks are encouraged for character.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat ½ cup of heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. In a separate bowl, blend 4 oz of softened cream cheese, ¼ cup of confectioner’s sugar, and ½ tsp of vanilla until smooth.
  6. Melt ¼ cup of white chocolate chips and fold into the cream cheese mixture, then gently incorporate the whipped cream.
  7. Cover the mousse and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavor and ease of piping.
  8. Once chilled, use a piping bag to fill each chocolate skull with the mousse, creating swirls on top. Chill again for 10-15 minutes before serving.
