Preparation Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, finely minced onion, and seasonings. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and set aside on a plate.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, cook meatballs until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
- In the same skillet, create a roux with 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of flour. Gradually stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to thicken the sauce.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and return to pot, mixing in the prepared sauce.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a baking dish, combine the cooked pasta and meatballs with sauce. Spread evenly and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
