Ingredients
  

For the Coating
  • 1 cup Coconut Flour or almond flour
  • 1/4 cup Tapioca Starch or cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh garlic
For the Steak
  • 2 pounds Round Steak or eye of round/top round
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil or avocado oil
  • 1 medium White Onion diced
For the Creamy Gravy
  • 2 cups Beef Stock or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup White Mushrooms or your favorite variety
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper or white pepper
  • 1 can Full-Fat Coconut Milk or almond milk with thickening

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium bowl, combine coconut flour, tapioca starch, salt, and garlic powder, mixing well.
  2. Dredge round steak in the flour mixture, ensuring it's coated on all sides.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and brown the coated steaks on each side for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Arrange browned steaks in the slow cooker and top with diced white onion.
  5. Blend beef stock and chopped white mushrooms until smooth, then pour over the steaks and sprinkle with pepper.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 5-6 hours or on low for 7-9 hours.
  7. About 30 minutes before serving, scoop out the cream from coconut milk and mix with tapioca starch, then add to the slow cooker.
  8. Once cooked, gently mix and serve over vegetables, potatoes, or noodles.
