For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce use tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free version
  • 1/4 cup olive oil can be substituted with any neutral oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced red onion yellow onion can also work well
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped thyme dried thyme can be used in smaller amounts
  • 1 tablespoon chopped rosemary dried rosemary can also be effective in less quantity
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar for reserved marinade
  • 2 steaks favorite cut of beef choose from ribeye, New York strip, porterhouse, etc.

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, minced red onion, honey, and minced garlic until well combined.
  2. Stir in chopped thyme and rosemary, seasoning with kosher salt and black pepper.
  3. Set aside 1/4 cup of the marinade to use later, mixing in red wine vinegar.
  4. Place steaks in a resealable bag, pouring the marinade over them and ensuring they are coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Remove steaks from marinade, pat dry, and discard marinade. Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat, cooking steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  6. Let cooked steaks rest for about 10 minutes under aluminum foil before slicing.
  7. Slice against the grain and drizzle reserved marinade over or serve it on the side.
