Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour can use gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour (Cornstarch) or rice flour for lighter crunch
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust according to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper omit for milder dish
  • 1 pound Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Oil for frying Vegetable or Canola Oil do not use olive oil
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup Orange Juice fresh-squeezed preferred
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce opt for low-sodium
  • 1/4 cup Sugar honey or agave can be substitutes
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar can swap with apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic fresh garlic recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste or fresh grated ginger
For Garnishing
  • 2 stalks Green Onions sliced
  • Sesame Seeds optional for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornflour, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until blended. Coat chicken pieces in the flour mixture.
  2. Pour oil into a skillet until about 1/2 inch deep and heat to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Fry the coated chicken in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  4. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and ginger paste. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  5. Add fried chicken pieces to the sauce, tossing until well-coated.
  6. Serve on a platter, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy with steamed jasmine rice.

Notes
