- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice fresh peaches into thin wedges.
- In a medium saucepan, combine sliced peaches with 3/4 cup of sugar. Cook over medium heat until boiling, then simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish in the oven for about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter, without stirring.
- Spoon the peach filling over the batter evenly, then sprinkle cinnamon on top.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and peach juices are bubbling.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
