Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice fresh peaches into thin wedges.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sliced peaches with 3/4 cup of sugar. Cook over medium heat until boiling, then simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter, without stirring.
