Step-by-Step Instructions for Halloween Brownies
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan) or gas mark 4 while preparing a 24 x 20 cm brownie tin lined with baking parchment.
- In a heatproof bowl, combine the butter and dark chocolate. Melt over simmering water for 5-7 minutes, then cool for 10 minutes.
- Whisk together the eggs and caster sugar in a separate large mixing bowl until thick and pale, about 5 minutes.
- Fold the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar blend, then sift in the plain flour and cocoa powder.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 35-40 minutes, ensuring the center remains fudgy.
- While the brownies cool, melt the white chocolate and dip one side of the cookies into it, placing a sugar-coated chocolate in the center.
- Press the prepared eyeballs into the warm brownie surface and let the tray cool completely.
- After cooling, lift the brownies out using the parchment paper and cut into 12 squares.
