Step-by-Step Instructions for Halloween Brownies
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan) or gas mark 4 while preparing a 24 x 20 cm brownie tin lined with baking parchment.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, combine the butter and dark chocolate. Melt over simmering water for 5-7 minutes, then cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the eggs and caster sugar in a separate large mixing bowl until thick and pale, about 5 minutes.
  4. Fold the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar blend, then sift in the plain flour and cocoa powder.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 35-40 minutes, ensuring the center remains fudgy.
  6. While the brownies cool, melt the white chocolate and dip one side of the cookies into it, placing a sugar-coated chocolate in the center.
  7. Press the prepared eyeballs into the warm brownie surface and let the tray cool completely.
  8. After cooling, lift the brownies out using the parchment paper and cut into 12 squares.
