Ingredients
  

For the Cabbage Buns
  • 1 head Cabbage green cabbage or savoy
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil can substitute with avocado oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder or use fresh minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika sweet paprika is a substitute
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
For the Beef Patties
  • 1 lb Ground Beef ideally 80/20
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce optional
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder or use fresh onions
  • 1 tbsp Butter or Olive Oil for cooking
For the Toppings
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese or mozzarella or vegan cheese if dairy-free
  • 4 tbsp Sugar-Free Ketchup or homemade options

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the cabbage into 1-inch thick rounds and place them on a baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over the cabbage and season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Roast for 30-35 minutes, turning halfway through until golden and crispy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into four equal patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add butter or olive oil. Sear the beef patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until fully cooked.
  4. Remove the cabbage from the oven. Place a slice of cheddar cheese atop each cabbage round and return to the oven for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing the beef patties on top of the cheesy cabbage rounds and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

Make sure cabbage rounds are at least 1-inch thick. Flip halfway through roasting for crispy texture.
